DOG SAVED IN TAMPA BAY!!!

We were informed by a mutual friend that a house had been torn down and
the dog was left behind. We went out and fed the dog and left a
dog house for her. At this point, it seemed that all the
neighbors were feeding her.
We attempted to catch her for over a month. It seems as though
the previous owners had beaten her....but she was still waiting for
them to come home. We tried sedatives, a net and just plain
approaching the dog and nothing worked. Someone called animal
control and time was ticking at that point.
We tried everything and finally secured a dog trap. A mutual
friend set the trap and the first night he caught a toothless
redneck! The dog was too smart for the trap. Finally we
caught her with the patented "Dan McMillion hair trigger trap" baited
with a cheeseburger.
Everyone worked together to help. We got her to the vet and got
her shots. She is presently heartworm positive. We took her
to a friends yard and set her free. She was extremely skittish
and afraid.
Working with her everyday, she is now active and acclimated to her new
owner....She is truly a miracle...Great & smart dog...Thanks to
everyone's help, she has a new home.
We were surprised that NO ONE would help to catch her. Everyone
was interested in the dog is she would walk up to you so you could
catch her.....Thanks to a group effort, she has a great home..A
testament to NEVER give up...
How Did It Happen:
One day I
noticed all of the indigent animals that no one took care of. It
seemed as though as soon as people lost interest in their animals they
just left them to fend for themselves.
We pay
taxes and a certain percentage of those taxes pays for the indigents
health care. What do we do with animals? Not very much.....
Purpose:
Scamp
Saviors is a grass roots effort to help homeless and indigent
animals. Scamp Saviors collects food, bedding, toys, leashes and
other necessities for those who do not have,
We hope to
raise money in order to provide vet care for indigent animals and
assist owners who can not afford to properly take care of their animals
health needs.
Where We Stand:
We are
managed by a group of volunteers. We do not go out and fund
raise. Donations of supplies are always welcome.
Where We Would Like To Be:
Eventually
we would like to purchase or construct a facility to care for these
indigent animals. A place where there is plenty of room to roam
and lots of volunteers to pay attention to the needy animals.
How Can You Help:
- If you see a homeless animal, stop and feed it - it could be the
only food they have had
- Adopt a pet - pets are responsibilities with great rewards -
consider pet ownership
- Spay or neuter your pet - this will help to prevent more unwanted
pets
- If you believe in what we are trying to do, GET INVOLVED!
We are working on attaining a small facility
- Spread the word, we do not advertise. Hopefully thru word
of mouth we can help
