1979 Volvo 262 Bertone
Problem: Overdrive
When the transmission was replaced, the overdrive would not function
properly
Solution:
The overdrive unit was seperated from the transmission, cleaned and
reassembled. The process involved ordering the gaskets from the
Volvo dealer, taking all the O Rings to a hydraulic company to be
matched and careful reassembly. When installed, the overdrive
unit would engage and disengage. This problem was attributed to
the transmission oil being low. Also the wiring was carefully
inspected for wear. When completed, the Bertone went down the
road!
1989 Volvo 240 Sedan
Problem: Car Would Run Fine Then Act Like It Was Out Of Fuel
Solution:
The owner of the car had changed both fuel pumps, the distributor, main
ecu, air mass meter and the fuel filter. The owner never bothered
to check the igniter located behind the battery on the firewall.
Immediate replacement and the automobile is down the road.
1986 Volvo 740 Turbo
Problem: Intermittent Starting
Solution:
A common problem in the 740/760 series automobiles is the hall effect
sensor located inside the distributor. Once replaced, the car had
no more problems. Down the road, haven't seen it again.
